Key Differences Between First-Class and Second-Class Energy Efficiency Transformers (S22 / SCB18 vs S20 / SCB14)

Energy efficiency grade is the core standard for judging whether transformers meet national grid and new energy project requirements. More and more photovoltaic, industrial and urban renovation projects mandate first-class energy efficiency.

S22 and SCB18 are the latest first-class energy efficiency models. Compared with second-class energy efficiency products (S20/SCB14), they greatly reduce no-load loss and operating current. For 24-hour continuous operation equipment, the annual electricity saving benefit is very significant.

Second-class energy efficiency products are slightly lower in price, but have higher long-term power consumption, making them unsuitable for long-term running scenarios such as photovoltaic power stations and industrial parks.
